Sydney's classic Holden Commodore

Author:

Yesterday I spotted this piece on my way back from my wife’s office. It was a brown/gold fairly excellent Holden Commodore. It was produced in the 80’s, completely in Australia, but not many of them still running on the street. Came with range of 1.9 L to 5.0 L engine and in sedan to wagon model, it was the muscle car of many proud-Australian 🙂 it was designed by General Motors (GM) engineer. So that’s why it has many similarity with Opel, Vauxhall, or Chevrolet in Europe and US continent. FYI one of ITB’s lecturer (From Machinery Engineering) still has a red Vauxhall station wagon.

While in Indonesia, this model was the successor of Kingswood, Premier, Statement, and Torana. Holden stopped entering Indonesian market in the early 90’s (as I recall), when there was a major import case with the Indonesia Custom Department.
