Meet Team Action from Indonesia!
COVID19 has turned our mind upside down. Obviously we are not ready for the next pandemic (https://www.gatesnotes.com/Health/We-…). On the other hand, water-related diseases are still the number one silent killer in developing countries. Diarrhea for an example, this widely known disease still causing 4% of all deaths worldwide. It kills around 2.2 million people globally per year, mostly children in developing countries (https://www.who.int/water_sanitation_…).
In the high demand for safe water access to prevent water-related diseases, people living in the riverbank of major rivers, unfortunately have very limited access to safe water due to river pollution, exposing them to higher risk of infection. Putting attention closely to major rivers in Southeast Asia including Citarum, Chao Phraya, Irrawaddy, Marilao, Kinabatangan, and Mekong River — which are heavily polluted mostly by domestic waste and industrial discharge — our team offers OneRiver a solution to increase awareness, concerns, and actions involving all parties for a thorough result.
OneRiver is a platform providing direct solution by going to the society with citizen data-collecting support, and latest river update information. In the platform we also provide education and empowerment to educate people who lived in riverbank also to create a more eco-friendly and healthy community based on a reusable dataset. OneRiver is accessible for all to collaborate in the effort to reduce water pollution and prepare sustainable environment for achieving Global Goals 2030. Therefore, action is our dedication, and so as our team name.
