- # some logistics
- opinions expressed here are my own … obviously :),
- i am a geologist by training, focussing in hydrogeology (groundwater studies),
- so many bits of my opinions are based observations in my field (at national and international level),
– however, many would think that I try to change the direction of science assessment, but that is not the case. my objective is to widen the ways to get to the same direction… especially for early career researchers.

- # some ideas
- rather than only thinking about metric, we could think about the internal component of a research

- the
real
impact
- value the content of a paper and not the journal
- in indonesia we have this form to assess an article for promotion process,
- but the score are based on the form of the publishing medium (books or journal articles) and which journal to publish in,
- prerequisite: an article published in certain kinds of journal.
- value non-journal article outputs, especially those which targeted to community outreach.
- these outputs are normally have a very low score as low as 1,
- while journal article can be scored max of 40.
- rather than only thinking about metric, we could think about the internal component of a research
